Top beaches to visit in Antigua
Half Moon Bay
Located on the south east side of the island, Half Moon Bay is the perfect location for a day’s R&R and is without a doubt one of the top beaches to visit in Antigua. Moor in the secluded bay and head in land, where the shimmering sea meets the soft sand of the horseshoe shaped beach.
Ashore, spend some time topping up your tan on the beach before heading to one of the Bay’s quaint eateries such as Beach Bum Bar and Grill or Smiling Harry’s, where you can experience relaxed dining and a cold beer. Spend an afternoon enjoying a range of watersports, from kayaking to snorkelling, and see some of the small schools of fish that use the shelter of the bay as their home.
Rendezvous Bay
Head to the south of the island to Rendezvous Bay, home to pale golden sands that are unspoiled and truly tantalising. The area is one of Antigua’s most precious jewels, where environmental preservation is of key importance to the locals and as such, offers visitors a uniquely unforgettable experience.
The beach is shaded by 1000ft rolling hills that allow for a great day’s hiking and offers a cooler alternative to laying on the beach. At night, moor in the bay and walk hand in hand along the beach, leaving footprints in the sand as you watch the sunset from this Instagram ready paradise.
Deep Bay
If you’re looking for a long beach with powdery, soft sand and very little shade, Deep Bay is perfect for you. Located on the north-west coast of Antigua in Five Islands, Deep Bay is great for a day of fun on the beach or an adventure further in land.
Popular with families, the bay is less populated than neighbouring beaches but provides the opportunity to enjoy great swimming and snorkelling. In land, take a hike to the tip of the cape and the tumultuous waters and enjoy the endless views of the turquoise ocean, made even more mesmerising by the sunset.
Hermitage Bay
The soft white sand, secluded coves and green-blue seas of Heritage Bay make this beach location one of the top beaches to visit in Antigua and is ideal for a romantic day of tranquillity. Situated on the west of the Antigua in Five Islands Harbour, moor in the bay and head ashore to relax on the white sand while listening to the hypnotic sound of the gentle waves lapping against it.
There are a range of high end resorts located in the ayb, so after a dip in the warm sea, dry off on the beach and head up to one of the stunning restaurants that overlook the bay before going back on board your yacht to watch the stars twinkle above you.
